Mac & Cheese
Mac & cheese is an easy and kids friendly dish made of cooked macaroni pasta, mixed with a creamy cheese sauce, often baked with a crunchy topping. This is an all time favorite of my kids and it’s the best option for any kids party. We can make big tray of pasta with less ingredients in short time.
Ingredients for Mac & Cheese
Macaroni – 1/2 lb
Butter – 1.5 tablespoons
All purpose flour – 1.5 tablespoons
Evaporated milk – 1/2 can
Heavy cream – 1/2 cup
Bread crumbs – 1/4 cup
Cheese
Sharp cheddar – 1/4 lb
Coby jack – 1/2 lb
Mozzarella – 1/2 lb
Spices
Garlic powder – 1/2 tsp
Smoked paprika – 1/2tsp
Cayenne pepper – 1/4 tsp
Black pepper – 1/4 tsp
Directions
Pre-Preparation
Boil water and salt.
When the bubbles started coming, add the macaroni pasta.
When the pasta cooked well, stop the flame.
Drain the water from pasta.
Mix all the spices in a small bowl.
Mix all the cheese altogether.
Save 1/4 cup of cheese for topping.
Pre-heat the oven to 350°F.
Cooking & Mixing
Heat a pan with butter and keep the flame medium.
Add half of the spices and saute a little.
Add the all purpose flour and toss it without any lumps.
Pour the evaporated milk and heavy cream.
Add the remaining spices.
Mix everything together and add half of the cheese.
When the cheese melted and mixed well with other ingredients, add cooked pasta and mix well.
Switch off the flame and transfer half of the pasta to a baking pan.
Add the leftover cheese and add the remaining pasta mix.
Mix the 1/4 cheese that you kept aside with breadcrumbs.
Drizzle cheese, breadcrumbs mix over the pasta.
Bake the pasta for 15 minutes.
Macaroni and cheese ready.
Serve the pasta.
Notes
If you’re not a cheese lover, just cut the cheese quantities into half and no need to change other ingredients quantities.
Topping is optional.
