தேங்காய் துவையல் (Tour coconut Thuvaiyal)
Tour thuvaiyal is all time favorite for my family. This thuvaiyal is the best option for one day trip, for either breakfast or dinner. Whenever I prepare this thuvaiyal for a trip, I have to pack more idlies. Kids always like the taste of urad dal in it. The special tour thovayal can survive in room temperature for the whole day without the worry of getting spoiled.
Ingredients for Tour Thuvaiyal
Coconut – 1 cup (chopped)
Red chilli – 6
Tamarind – 1/2 tbsp
Garlic – 6
Ginger – 1 tbsp
Urad dal – 2 tbsp
Dry curry leaves – 1/2 tbsp (optional)
Salt as needed
Tempering
Oil – 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds & urad dal – 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Directions
Take a pan and add little bit of oil
Add urad dal and stir until the color changes to brown
Now add red chilli, ginger, garlic and tamarind
Stir 2 to 3 minutes, finally add chopped coconut
Stir again for a minute and let it cool
Transfer the mix in to a blender jar
Add salt and dry curry leaves
Blend with little water until it becomes fine paste
Take a pan and add tempering ingredients one by one
Then add the ground thuvaiyal and stir for a minute
Yummy thuvaiyal ready
