பூந்தி (Sweet Boondhi)
Sweet Boondhi is my kids favorite sweet. I’m so happy to share this recipe as my 200th post here. It is very easy to prepare boondi at home. This boondi is the base for preparing laddu as well. This boondi can be a quick evening snack item because it is easy to prepare or can be prepared for any festival because it is rich. Here is the recipe for you.
Ingredients for Sweet Boondhi
Gram flour – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 1/4 cup
Water for syrup (enough to immerse)
Saffron – 6 strings
Cashews – 1 tbs
Dry grapes – 1 tbs
Cardamom – 3
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Directions
Pre-preparation
Take garam flour in a mixing bowl.
Pour water into the flour and mix well.
Mix the batter into dosa batter consistency.
Heat sugar, saffron and water in a pan.
Cook the syrup until one string consistency.
Change the flame into medium until started to crystal (color changes to white).
Switch off the flame.
Prepare Boondi
Heat oil in a frying pan.
Pour the batter through boonthi laddle.
Hold the laddle little above the frying pan.
Take out the boondi before it gets crispy.
Add boondi to the sugar syrup and mix well.
After mixing all the boondi, transfer that to a mixing bowl.
Heat ghee in a pan and add cashews, dry grapes.
Fry them into golden brown and add that to the boondi.
Crush the cardamom and add that to boondi.
Let the boondi cools down completely.
Sweet boondi ready.
Notes
Boondi lalde is a must and you can find it in every silverware store.
