வாழைக்காய் சிப்ஸ் – Plantain Chips
Plantain chips are easy to prepare and kids favorite snack. Banana chips are a perfect match for variety rice. This chips is easy to pack for family trips as side dish or snacks. Plantain chips may be baked in oven too. But fried chips taste good. This chips is usually seasoned with salt and chilli powder.
Ingredients for Plantain Chips
Plantain – 2
Oil for frying
Chilli powder, pepper powder (optional)
Salt as needed
Directions
Cut both the edges of the plantain.
Remove the plantain skin with peeler.
Slice the plantain with the slicer (shown in the picture).
Heat oil in a frying pan and put sliced plantain one by one.
Fry the sliced plantain batch by batch.
put the fried chips in a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Take the drained chips in a mixing bowl and add salt (and optional spices) then toss it well.
Chips ready.
Notes
Slice the plantain in a rhythmic speed then only you get the perfect round shape.
Don’t over crowd the chips, if one or more slice plantain overlapped while cooking, it won’t be crispy.
Keep the chips in an air tight container.
Refrigerate the chips in air tight container to use for longer time.
Apply coconut oil on the slicer to remove stickiness for cleaning.
