Cilantro Pesto Sauce
Cilantro Pesto sauce is an alternative way to prepare traditional Pesto Sauce. Pesto sauce is an uncooked sauce which is originated from Italy. This sauce is traditionally made from basil leaves, garlic, hard cheese and olive oil. I tried this sauce with cilantro and our family like the flavor very much. This sauce goes well with pasta and pizza. Here is the recipe!
Ingredients for Cilantro Pesto Sauce
Cilantro – 1 bunch (1.5 cup chopped)
Garlic – 1 pod
Olive oil – 1/4 cup
Almonds – 15
Shredded Parmesan cheese – 1/2 cup
Onion – 1/4 cup
Salt as needed
Directions
Take a bowl and pour hot water in it.
Add almonds and soak it for 15 minutes.
Take almonds from bowl and squeeze little to remove the almond’s skin out.
Take almonds in a mixie jar and blend little.
Now add cilantro and garlic in the mixie jar and blend little.
Add cheese, onion and salt and blend a little more.
Pour oil to the blender and give a pulse.
Cilantro pesto sauce ready.
Transfer the sauce to a bowl.

Pesto, or to refer to the original dish pesto alla genovese, is a sauce originating in Genoa, the capital city of Liguria, Italy. It traditionally consists of crushed garlic, European pine nuts, coarse salt, basil leaves, and hard cheese such as Parmigiano-Reggiano or Pecorino Sardo, all blended with olive oil.
