சிக்கன் லாலிபாப் – Chicken Lollipop

Chicken lollipop is a popular Indo-Chinese fried chicken appetizer. Lollipop is essentially a frenched chicken winglet, wherein the meat is cut loose from the bone end and pushed down, creating a lollipop appearance. This is favorite for kids.

Ingredients for Chicken Lollipop

All purpose flour – 2 tbs
Corn flour – 2 tbs
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbs
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Cumin powder – 1 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tbs
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Soy sauce – 1 tsp
Lemon – 1
Egg – 1
Salt as needed

Directions

Cutting

Peel the skin out and clean the chicken.
If you have wingettes, you will get one lollipop per piece. If you have wings, you will get 2 lollipops per piece.
I have wingettes today.
Use knife and line the edge of the wingette.
Then push the flesh towards down.
If you see two bones, take out the weak bone.
When all the flesh come down, round it like a ball.
Now you can see the lollipop shape.
Lollipop chicken ready to cook.

Marinate

Take a big bowl and pour the soy sauce.
Add all the spices, crack the egg and add.
Combine the spices and add the flour.
Mix the paste well and check the consistency as shown in picture.
Add the lollipop chicken into the masala.
Coat the masala all over the chicken and marinate that for at least 30 minutes.

Frying

Heat oil in a pan in medium flame.
Add the marinated chicken one by one.
Don’t over crowd the pan.
Fry the chicken until completely cooked.
Chicken lollipop ready.
