வெஜிடபிள் பப்ஸ் (Vegetable Puffs)
Vegetable Puffs are favorite theater snack for many of us. Tasty veg puffs can be made at home using healthy fresh vegetables.
Makes 8 Puffs
Ingredients for Vegetable Puffs
Puff pastry sheet – 2
Oil – 2 tbsp
Onion – 2 medium sliced
Potato – 1 diced
Tomato – 1
Peas – 1/4 cup
Carrot – 1
Cilantro – 1 tbs
Egg – 1
Spice Ingredients
Turmeric – pinch
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Salt as needed
Pre-preparation
Soak peas overnight and cook separately.
Take the pastry sheet out from freezer at least 1 hour prior to use
Directions for vegetable puffs
Take a pan and pour oil then add chopped onion in medium low flame.
Now, saute the onion until golden brown.
Add chopped tomato and stir until mushy.
Now add all the spice ingredients and stir well.
Add all the vegetables and mix well.
Pour 1 cup of water and cook with lids closed until the vegetables cooked.
Add chopped cilantro leaves into the cooked vegetable stuffing.
Check whether the pastry sheet is ready to use, if not wait until it is ready to handle.
Stretch the pastry sheet and cut into pieces as shown in the picture.
Now, place the stuffing in the one side and close the sheet.
Spread some water in the edges and seal it.
Beat an egg and give a gentle coat on the top of the puffs
Pre-heat the oven to 400℉.
Transfer all the stuffed pastry sheets in a baking pan
Bake the puffs for 15 minutes.
Finally, vegetable puffs are ready.
Serve வெஜிடபிள் பப்ஸ் with ketchup or tomato sauce.
Notes
If you don’t want to use egg to coat your puff, use melted butter coat that also give nice golden color to the puffs and also it will be 100% veg.
I used dry peas, so had to soak it overnight. If you use fresh peas, you can cook it along with other vegetables.
