ராஜபாளையம் பக்கோடா (Rajapalayam Pakoda)
Rajapalayam Pakoda is one of the famous side dish in Virudhunagar district. I always purchase this when I go to my hometown. This specific recipe won’t be available in any other part of Tamil Nadu. Here is the special pakada recipe for you.
Ingredients for Rajapalayam Pakoda
Besan flour – 1 cup
Rice flour – 3/4 cup
Hing – a pinch
Small onion – 5
Green chilli – 2
Hot oil – 2 tbs / Melted butter – 2 tbsp
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Oil – frying
Salt as needed
Directions
Chop small onion into small pieces.
Take all the ingredients except butter in a mixing bowl.
Mix everything well then pour the melted butter or hot oil.
Knead the flour with adding water little by little.
Just add enough water to hold the flour together.
Don’t make any shape just pinch some dough and add to the hot oil pan.
Fry the pakkada until the color change.
Take pakora out when bubble stops.
Rajapalayam Pakkoda ready.
Note
Don’t add too much water, just spray the water.
Adding hot oil to make dough will give better result than using melted butter.
