Chili Garlic Tofu
Chili Garlic Tofu is a quick and healthy recipe. This is my first tofu recipe in my website. if you are someone searching for protein rich and less fat food option, this recipe is for you. We may add more veggies to enhance the taste of this recipe. I tried once in my home and my kids enjoyed tofu and veg flavor in this recipe and started asking for this frequently. I also prefer protein rich foods for breakfast, so this become one of our regular breakfast menu item.
Ingredients for Chili Garlic Tofu
Tofu – 250g
Red bell pepper – 1 (diced)
Green bell pepper – 1(diced)
Oil – 1 tbs
Soy sauce – 3/4 tbs
Chilli sauce – 1 tbs
Garlic powder – 1/2 tsp
Corn starch – 1 tbs
Pepper – 1/4 tsp
Salt as needed
Green onion & sesame seeds for garnish
Directions
Dice the tofu into small cubes.
Add the tofu into a mixing bowl.
Drizzle some salt and pepper.
Add corn starch and mix everything well together.
Heat half tablespoon of oil in a pan.
Stir Fry the tofu until golden brown on both sides.
Heat another pan with half tablespoon of oil.
Add the diced bell peppers and saute a little.
Now add soy sauce, chilli sauce, garlic powder and little bit of salt.
Finally add the stir fried tofu into the veggies.
Toss well and let it sit for a minute.
Switch off the flame.
Add some sesame seeds and garnish with green onions.
Chili garlic tofu ready.
Notes
You may use freshly minced garlic instead of garlic powder as it will give a strong flavour.
Sesame seeds and green onions are optional.
You may add different veggies (like broccoli, mushrooms) for this recipe!
