பருப்பு மசியல் (Paruppu Masiyal)
Ingredients
Toor dal – 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder – pinch
Oil – 1 tsp
Hing – pinch
Water – 2 – 3 cups
Salt as needed
Tempering ingredients
Oil – 1 tbs
Mustard seeds & urad dal – 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp (optional)
Curry leaves – 1/2 spring
Dry red chilli – 2-3
Shallot / small onion – 1 (chopped)
Directions
Take dal in a pressure cooker and wash it
Add water, turmeric, few drops of oil, hing then close the lid
Put the weight when gas started coming out
Change the flame into medium and cook the dal for 5 whistle
Release the pressure, then transfer the cooked dal into a serving bowl
Take small pan and add all tempering ingredients one by one
When the onion get fully cooked stop the flame
Pour the tempered items to the dal
Now add salt and mix well
Paruppu masiyal ready
Serve Paruppu masiyal with ghee & rice
Notes
If you want to give this to baby just avoid dry red chilli

Close lid and keep high flame 
Put whistle when gas comes and keep flame low 
Cooked toor dal 
Add little water and mix 
On a frying pan add oil 
Add mustard, urad dal, curry leaves 
Add onion 
Add red chilli 
Fry until onion turns golden brown 
Add it in dal and add salt and mix well 
Paruppu masiyal ready
