Paneer Tikka

பனீர் டிக்கா (Paneer Tikka)

Paneer tikka is an Indian dish made from chunks of paneer marinated in spices and grilled in a tandoor. It is a vegetarian alternative to chicken tikka and other meat dishes. It is a popular dish that is widely available in India. This recipe is suitable as side for vegetarian variety rice.

Ingredients for Paneer Tikka

Paneer – 200 g 
Onion – 1 
Capsicum/ Green bell pepper – 1/2
Tomato – 1
Butter for drizzle 

For Marination

Curd – 1 cup
Chilli powder – 2 tbs
Chat masala powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder – 1 tsp 
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Kasturi methi leaves – 2 tsp 
Besan flour – 3 tbs
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbs
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Lemon juice – 1 tsp 
Salt as needed 

Directions

Pre-Preparation

Pre-heat the oven into 250°F.
Cut the paneer and veggies into cube size.

Marination

Add all the marination ingredients in a mixing bowl. 
Mix everything well then add all the veggies. 
Marinate the veggies for 4 hours or overnight. 

Grilling

Insert the marinated veggies in skewer. 
Place the skewers in the pre-heated oven.
Switch on the grill mode as low.
Grill the veggies for 8 minutes. 
Dip brush in melted butter and brush over the half cooked veggies. 
Flip the skewers into other side and cook for another 8 minutes. 
Take out the skewers.
தந்தூரி பனீர் / Paneer tikka ready.

Notes

Don’t over cook the veggies otherwise they turn into hard.
According to your taste adjust the quantity of veggies. 
You may sprinkle chat masala over the grilled veggies. 
Also you may grill the veggies in camp fire grill.
