வெங்காய ஊத்தப்பம் (Onion Uthappam)
Onion uthappam is my family favorite tiffin item. In my hometown, one hotel prepares tasty and yummy onion uthappam. They usually give sambar, coconut chutney and spicy green chutney as side. They burn the onion side little bit and that’s their specialty. Myself and my dad are fan of that specific uthappam.

Onion uthappam ready.
Serve the uthappam with sambar and variety of chutney.
Notes
Chop the onion finely otherwise it won’t taste well.
I used big shallot onion for this recipe, you can use any type of onion.
But shallots give more taste.
Don’t spread the batter very thin, you can’t stuff onion.
Also don’t spread the batter very thick, it won’t cook inside properly.
Avoid using chili when preparing for kids.
