பால் பாயாசம் Milk Paayaasam (Kalyana veedu style)
Milk Paayaasam is a must in every marriage function in South India especially in Tamil Nadu and people like to eat payasam directly from banana leaf after finishing awesome lunch. There are few tricks to make tasty payasam every time without fail. Find the recipe with tricks.
Ingredients for Milk Paayaasam
Javarisi / Tapioca Sago/ Sabudana – 2 tbsp
Semiya – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Cardamom – 2
Cashew nuts – 2 tbs
Dry grapes – 2 tbsp
Directions
Take a pressure cooker and add javarisi.
Wash Javarisi in water.
Pour one cup of water & 2-3 drops of oil.
Pressure cook the javarisi for 10 whistles in a medium flame.
Take a pan and dry roast the cashew nuts and dry grapes in ghee.
Leave the ghee in the pan and take everything out.
Now roast the semiya in low flame until golden brown.
Add the roasted semiya / vermicelli into the pressure cooker with javarisi.
Pour little water and allow the semiya to cook in medium flame.
Add sugar and mix everything thoroughly.
Switch off the flame now and then add nuts, dry grape, crushed cardamom.
Warm the milk and add it to the payasam and gently mix.
Allow the payasam to cool for about 15 mins to reach the consistency.
Pal Payasam பால் பாயாசம் ready.
Notes
Don’t add much water to pressure cook the javarisi.
Don’t add sugar before semiya.
Semiya needs just 5 mins cooking time.
Don’t reheat the payasam, just add 1/2 cup of warm milk and sugar for better result.
