மிளகு சேவு (Milagu Sevu)
Milagu sevu is a simple spicy snack. It takes very less time to prepare and easy to make. In my hometown this sevu is very famous, we called this as Koondu sevu. I’m using butter for this sevu because butter gives softness to the sevu. Oil can be used instead of butter or combination of oil and butter also gives nice texture.
Ingredients for Milagu Sevu
Besan flour / kadalai maavu – 1 cup
Rice flour / Arisi maavu – 1 cup
Black pepper – 2 tsp
Butter – 2 tbsp
Garlic – 3 cloves ( optional)
Asafoetida / Perungayam – pinch
Salt as needed
Directions
Sift both flour and take it in a mixing bowl.
Crush pepper and garlic separately and add to the mixing bowl.
Now add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Add water little by little and continue to knead.
Dough ready.
Heat oil in a kadai.
Set the flame to medium.
Fill the dough into the mold and press directly into the oil.
Let it fry until the bubbles stop little.
Flip the side and let it fry until color changes.
Take the batch out and let it cool down.
After all done, break it and store in container.
Milagu Sevu is ready now.
