உருளைக்கிழங்கு மசியல் (Mashed Potato)
Mashed potato or mashed potatoes, colloquially known as mash, is a side dish made by mashing boiled potatoes, usually with added milk, butter, salt and pepper. It is generally served as a side dish to meat or vegetables. This recipe is originated from United States, Germany, France.
Ingredients for Mashed Potato
Potato – 200gm (2 big)
Milk – 1/4 cup
Butter – 1 tbs
Crushed Black Pepper – 1 tsp
Salt as needed
Directions
Slice the potatoes into small pieces with skin.
Boil the potatoes with salt until completely cooked.
Peel off the boiled potatoes skin.
Mash the potatoes with potato masher.
Heat butter in a pan in medium flame.
After the butter melted, pour milk.
Boil the milk until raising then turn the flame into low.
Add the mashed potatoes and mix with butter and milk mixture.
Drizzle salt and crushed black pepper and mix with spatula.
Mashed potatoes ready.
Serve the mashed potatoes with vegetables/ meat.
Notes
Choose good variety of potato for this recipe.
Mash the potatoes completely because that gives perfect taste.
You may serve this with beef/chicken gravy.
