கோவக்காய் வறுவல் (Kovakkai Fry – Tindora Fry)
Kovakkai Fry is a tasty, healthy and simple to make recipe at home. Kovakkai also called as ivy gourd is said to have potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects that may aid in the prevention or treatment of a diverse range of health conditions, from diabetes and high cholesterol to high blood pressure and obesity.
Ivy gourd is a plant grown in tropical climates that is used for food and medicinal purposes.
Ingredients for Kovakkai Fry
Kovakkai – 1/4 kg
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Masala – 3/4 tbs
Oil – 2 tsp
Salt as needed
Directions
Wash the kovakkai well and cut it into round shape slices.
Take a wide pan and pour oil, then add sliced kovakkai.
Toss the kovakkai until it well coated with oil.
Close the pan with lid and cook in a medium heat until kovakkai is half cooked.
Now open the lid and add masala, curry leaves, salt.
Stir well and cook the kovakkai in low flame without closing the lid.
Cook until it is well cooked.
Tindora Fry ready.
