கீரை கடைசல் (Keerai Kadaisal)
Ingredients
Spinach / Arai keerai – 250 gm
Tomato – 1
Green chilli – 2
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds & urad dal – 1/4 tsp
Small onion – 2 (chopped)
Salt as needed
Directions
Wash the keerai and place it in a pressure cooker
Wash the tomato and green chilli
Cut the stem of the green chilli and add that into the cooker
Add the whole tomato into the cooker
Don’t add water and close the lid and pressure cook in medium flame for one whistle
Let the spinach/keerai mix cool down and put the mixer in a blender and blend very lightly (give a little buzz)
Take a pan with little oil and add mustard seeds and urad dal
After the seeds cracked add the curry leaves and chopped onion
Two minutes later add the blended puree into pan and add salt as needed
Switch off the flame, Keerai kadaisal ready
Serve with rice and ghee
Notes
Alternately use curd beater / curd churner (Thayir mathu) instead of blending in a blender
