Hot Chocolate
Hot chocolate is also known as drinking chocolate, which is made with coco powder, shaved or melted dark chocolate and milk. There are so many variations in this chocolate drink. Usually this is topped with milk/ cream/ marshmallow. Once my daughter received chocolate drink gift pack (ingredients packed in a cone shape wrapper) as Christmas gift from her classmate. She liked it very much and asked me to prepare the same at home as well. I prepared with this recipe and got awesome result.
Serves 2 mugs
Ingredients for Hot Chocolate
Coco powder – 1 tsp
Sugar – 4 tsp
Milk – 2.5 cups/ 500ml
Sat – pinch
Cinnamon – 1 stick
Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
Dark chocolate – 3 pieces/ 3 tbs dark chocolate chips
Topping Ingredients
Coco powder – dusting
Cream/ milk for drizzle
Directions
Add coco powder and sugar in a pan.
Mix them well and pour milk little by little.
When everything is well mixed switch on the stove and keep in full flame.
Now add vanilla extract, salt and cinnamon stick.
When it reaches the boiling heat, add dark chocolate.
Reduce the flame into medium and stir the chocolate to melt completely.
Switch off the flame and filter the hot drink in a bowl.
Transfer the chocolate drink in a mug.
Sift little bit of coco powder over the drink.
Drizzle cream over the coco powder.
Hot chocolate ready.
Enjoy the winter with the hot chocolate.
Notes
You may adjust the sugar level according to your taste.
If you’re using milk for topping, whip the milk with frother or mixie a little.
You may use marshmallow as the topping alternative to milk.
