நெல்லிக்காய் பூண்டு தொக்கு (Gooseberry Garlic Thokku)
Gooseberry Garlic Thokku is almost taste like pickle but this sourness never spoil our health. I got this recipe from my mother-in-law, it’s her own creation. This tastes so good and perfect match to eat with rice. This recipe help you in a lazy day to have a healthy food. Kids also like this gooseberry Garlic Thokku
Ingredients
Gooseberry – 1/2 kg
Garlic – 1/2 kg
Sesame oil – 200ml
Mustard seeds – 2 tsp + 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds – 2 tsp
Hing – 2 tsp
Dry red chilli – 20 to 30
Salt as needed
Directions
Dry roast the dry red chilli in medium flame.
After well roasted the red chilli take out and let it cool.
Now dry roast mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, hing.
Transfer all the roasted spices to a mixie jar and add salt.
Grind well the spices.
Grind the gooseberry and garlic batch by batch.
Take a big pan and pour sesame oil.
After the oil heated add the mustard seeds.
After the seeds cracked reduce the flame in low.
Add the ground spices and sauté for a minute.
Now add the ground gooseberry and garlic.
Stir well the thokku until everything well mixed.
Initially all the oil observed by the thokku.
Cook the thokku in medium flame until the oil oozes out.
Stir the thokku without sticking in the bottom.
Notes
Don’t try to grind all the gooseberry and garlic in one time, it won’t blend well.
Keep the Gooseberry Garlic Thokku in refrigerator so that it stays fresh for long time.
