கார்லிக் நாண் (Garlic Naan – Stove top)

Garlic Naan is a famous North Indian bread, that can be easily made on stove top as well. I usually buy frozen garlic naan but after trying this recipe, I started preparing at home. This recipe is easy to prepare and eating fresh cooked naan tastes really good.

Curd – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 1 tsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
Baking soda – 1/4 tsp
Garlic – 6 pods
Salt as needed
Cilantro for topping
Black cumin/ karunjeerakam – 1 tsp
Butter for spread

Directions

Prepare Dough

Take a big mixing bowl and add maida, curd, sugar, oil, baking powder and baking soda.
Then add half of the grated garlic.
Mix well and add luke warm water little by little as per need.
Knead the dough thoroughly for 5 minutes.
Cover the dough and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
Dough is ready.

Prepare Naan

Divide the dough into 8 equal parts.
Roll the dough into oval shape and spread grated garlic, cilantro, black cumin seeds then roll it again.
Flip the naan and roll again then spread some water over it.
Take a pan with handle and place the naan without apply any oil.
After bubbles comes, flip the pan on the flame.
Allow the flame to reach all over the naan.
Spread some butter on the naan before serving.

Notes

If you don’t want to flip the pan, hold the naan in a tong and show that over the flame.
Just avoid garlic for plain / butter naan.
