Chocolate Cake

சாக்லேட் கேக் (Chocolate Cake)

Ingredients for Chocolate Cake

All purpose flour / Maida – 2 cups
Coco powder – 3/4 cup
Baking soda – 1/2 tbs
Salt – 1 tsp
Egg – 3
Granulated sugar – 1.5 cup / Caster sugar – 1.75 cup
Softened butter – 2/3 cup (150 gm)
Vanilla essence – 1 tbs
Milk – 1.25 cup (300 ml)

Topping

Milk Chocolate chopped – 1.5 cups
Heavy cream – 3/4 cup
Milk – 2 tbs
Kisses chocolate – 8

Directions

Process 1:

Sift the dry ingredients flour, coco powder, baking soda, salt and set aside.

Process 2:

Take softened butter in a mixing bowl and beat until smooth.
Powder the granulated sugar and add to the butter.
Beat the mix until well mixed, then add egg one by one and beat well.
Add vanilla essence and beat the mix.
Now start adding the dry ingredients little by little and give a mix with beater.
When half of the flour added start adding milk and beat.
Finish adding milk add the remaining flour and allow that to combine well.

Process 3:

Grease a 9 * 3 inch round pan with butter and transfer the batter.
Pre-heat the oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit (180 C) and place the pan in oven.
Bake the cake for 35 – 40 mins.
Check the the cake with tooth pick whether it’s done.
Let it cool for 30 to 40 mins.

Process 4:

Heat the heavy cream and milk and add that to chopped chocolate chips.
Heat water in a pan and place the chocolate chip & milk mix bowl on top of it (double boiler method).
Stir the chocolate mix until well combined.
Pour the Chocolate mix on top of the cake thoroughly.
Wait for 10 minutes and keep the cake in refrigerator for 30 mins.
Now place kisses chocolates on the cake for decoration (you can place whatever chocolate you like).
Place the cake in refrigerator and serve after 6 hrs.
Chocolate cake ready.
