முட்டைகோஸ் பொரியல் (Cabbage Poriyal)

Cabbage Poriyal is a healthy choice for a side dish because cabbage has so much of health benefits. Cabbage is packed with Vitamin C and Vitamin K. This helps improve digestion and easy to prepare.

Ingredients for Cabbage Poriyal

Cabbage – 250gms
Moong dal – 1.5 tbs
Small onion – 2 (finely chopped)
Dried red chilli – 3
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Mustard seeds & Urad dal – 1/2 tsp
oil – 2 tsp
Grated coconut – 3 tbsp
Salt as needed

Directions

Soak Moong dal in water for 30 mis.
Take a pan with 2 tsp oil and add mustard seeds, Urad dal, Curry leaves and start the flame (low).
Wait until mustard cracks and add onion and red chilli.
Change the flame to medium.
After onion turns to golden brown, add moong dal.
Fry moong dal for two minutes.
Add salt now and mix well.
Finally add chopped Cabbage, stir well once and stir occasionally until cabbage cooks (about 7 to 10 minutes).
Garnish முட்டைகோஸ் பொரியல் with grated coconut.
This poriyal is served as part of kalyana sappadu with rice.
