Butter Cake

பட்டர் கேக் (Butter Cake)

Ingredients

All purpose flour / Maida – 3/4 cup (100g)
Butter – 1/2 cup (125g)
Egg – 2
Sugar – 1/2 cup (100 g)
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Vanilla essence – 2 tsp
Milk – 2 tbsp

Pre-preparation

Preheat the oven to 360°F/180°C
Soften the butter (keep it room temperature for at least 30 mins)

Directions

Sift the flour and baking powder
Take sugar, vanilla essence, softened butter in a mixing bowl
Mix everything well until they combine
Add one egg first and beat the mix well then add another one and beat the mixer until fluffy
Now add the sifted flour with baking powder little by little
Pour the milk and beat well
Take a pan and apply butter in the bottom and side
Give a good mix and pour that into a buttered pan
Place the pan in the preheated oven
Bake the cake for 30-35 minutes
Insert a tooth pick into the cake if it comes out clean the cake is done
Take out the pan and let it cool completely

Notes

8*4 loaf pan / 8 inch round pan / 8 inch square pan is suitable for this recipe
Don’t use large pan for this recipe that make the cake flatter not much fluffy
Use double acting baking powder for best results
