பிளாக் ஃபாரஸ்ட் கேக் (Black Forest Cake)
Black Forest Cake is originated from Germany. Traditional cake is a combination of chocolate cake filled with cherry syrup and sandwich with whipped cream. Here I used condensed milk and milk alternative for cherry syrup. Black Forest Cake is my family’s favorite cake. Most of the people prefers this cake for special occasions and I prepared this for my hubby’s birthday.
Ingredients for Black Forest Cake
For baking cake:
All purpose flour – 1 cup
Coco powder – 1 cup
Powdered sugar – 1 cup
Baking powder – 1 & 1/2 tsp
Salt – 2 pinches
Egg whites – 7
Egg yolks – 6
Vanilla essence – 2 tsp
Oil – 5 tbs
Butter for greasing
For whipped cream:
Heavy cream – 2 & 1/2 cup
For assembling:
Cake layers – 2
Milk – 1 cup
Condensed milk – 3 – 4 tbsp
Whipped cream
Fruit mix – pineapple, orange
Chocolate syrup
Chocolate swirls
Cherries
Directions
Baking cake:
Pre-heat the oven into 425°F (220°c).
Sift all purpose flour, coco powder, powdered sugar, baking powder and salt.
In two bowls separate egg whites and egg yolks and set aside.
Beat the egg whites with electric beater until stiff peaks forms.
Add egg yolks to the beaten egg whites and beat well.
Add oil, vanilla extract gradually then mix well.
Finally add the sifted flour little by little and mix well.
Take a buttered pan and place parchment paper.
Transfer the batter to a cake pan.
Bake the cake for 30 minutes or until completely baked.
Cake Layer:
Let the cake cools down completely.
Slice the cake horizontally as shown in picture.
Prepare for Assembling:
Take the heavy whipping cream and beat well until fluffy cream forms & set aside.
Use peeler and shave the chocolate.
Take a big glass and warm the milk.
Add the condensed milk into the warm milk and mix well.
Assemble Cake:
Pour the milk mix over the two slices of cake.
Let the cake soak with this milk for about 10 minutes.
Spread the whipped cream on the bottom slice.
Arrange the fruits on the cream.
Place the top piece on top of the fruit filling.
Cover the cake with whipped cream.
Decorate chocolate syrup on the cake as shown in the picture.
Add some cream in a pipping bag or ziplock cover with a pipping tip.
Decorate the cake with whipped cream.
Spread the chocolate swirls on top of the cake.
Place cherries on top of the cream.
Black Forest Cake ready.
Serve பிளாக் ஃபாரஸ்ட் கேக் in a plate.
Notes
I used homemade chocolate syrup. You can use store bought as well.
Here is the link for the cherry that I used. This is Indian type. You can use other variety as well.

Take the cake out once it cools down 
Slice the top out 
Also slice the cake 
Take a cup of warm milk and add condensed milk 
Blend well 
Pour milk on the layer 
Make sure it soaks 

Soak both layers 
Take cream in a bowl and whisk 
Whipping cream ready 
Apply cream on lower layer 
Spread evenly 
Add fruits 

Place the second layer on top and apply cream 

Decorate with chocolate syrup
