Authentic and simple Paneer Thecha Tikka recipe

பன்னீர் தீச்சா டிக்கா – Paneer Thecha Tikka

Paneer thecha tikka is a spicy healthy traditional snack originated from Maharashtra. Recently I shared the paneer thecha recipe. This is a little different and easier than paneer thecha. I use shredded paneer for this recipe, you can use paneer crumble as well for this recipe. This is a no-carb recipe and a good addition to paleo diet.

Ingredients for Paneer Thecha Tikka

Paneer – 200g
Garlic – 8 pods or 4 fat pods
Green chilli – 4
Roasted Peanuts – 1/4 cup
Cilantro – 1 cup
Salt as needed
Oil for pan frying
Drizzle few drops of water

Directions

Dry roast the garlic, green chilli, peanuts.
Transfer the roasted ingredients into the traditional grinding stone (Ammi).
Grind the ingredients coarse with adding salt.
Add the cilantro with stalks.
Drizzle few drops of water if necessary.
Thecha spices is ready now.

Mix the shredded paneer, little salt and thecha spices until well blended.
Take a small ball size and roll out into ball.
Press the ball in between palms to make flat shape tikka.
Prepare all balls into flat tikka.
Heat a pan and drizzle some oil.
Place the tikka in a pan and cook in a low medium heat.
Flip the tikka when it turns golden brown.
Take out the tikka when it completely cooked.
Paneer thecha tikka ready.

Notes

If you’re using homemade paneer, use it before making the shape.
