லெமன் சாதம் (Lemon Rice)
Lemon rice is one of the best takeout lunch for a picnic. Easy to prepare lunch recipe with less number of ingredients. Lemon helps to avoid the feeling of nausea so we can take this for travel too.
Ingredients for lemon rice
Rice – 1 cup
Lemon – 1 or 1/4 cup of lemon juice
Sesame oil – 1.5 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Mustard seeds & urad dal – 1/4 tsp
Dry red chilli – 4
Channa dal – 1 tbsp
Peanuts – 1/4 cup
Salt as needed
Directions
Cook rice separately and let it cool down completely
Take a pan with oil and heat in medium flame
Add mustard seeds and urad dal
After the seeds cracked, add channa dal
Roast the dal until golden brown
Add the curry leaves then add dry red chilli
Also add turmeric, salt and give a mix
Finally add the peanuts and mix well
Switch off the flame
Now the spice mix is ready
Transfer the cooked rice to a big mixing bowl
Add lemon juice and spice mix which we prepared
Mix well without breaking the rice
Lemon rice ready
Notes
Soak the rice before cooking
Half cook the rice to avoid breaking while mixing
If you want more spices, you can add tamarind rice spices
